Customer Myth 1 - Is it Safe ?

What do you see? This car has been exploded. But The Cylinder & Valve still in good condition. It's not related to NGV tank but was an oxy-acetylene tank. The explosion is because the driver is using mobile phone during the gas fuelling, which is not allowed.

Most people will ask me the first question when they really interested in converting their car into NGV, that is:" Is it Safe? " Well, I would like to say: " Yes. Absolutely! Even Natural Gas is safe than the fuel that we currently using- petrol."

Why I said it? Being lighter than air, in the event of an accident, natural gas simply dissipates into the air instead of forming a dangerous flammable pool on the ground like other liquid fuel (eg: petrol). Furthermore, Natural Gas has a higher ignition temperature (630 C) compared to petrol (450 C). This make Natural Gas less explosive and thus safer.

For your information, CNG Cylinders are manufactured from a special steel alloy and seamless in construction. Their compact size allows them to easily fit even in a small car. A CNG cylinder is stronger and harder than a petrol tank. They are built to withstand extreme high pressure and are tested at 4,350 pounds per square inch or 30 mega Pascal's, therefore is less hazardous in case of collision.

Customer Myth 3 - Lost of Power!

"Does NGV compensate on the power of my car? " I was being asked so many times when I talked to them. This is another common misconceptions that normal public will think of it.

Now the answer given to you is: "NO! " There will be no significant compensation on the power of your car. However, the car will be slightly heavier due to the weight of the CNG cylinder in the car.

If you really want running on the power, then I will encourage you to use back petrol as many NGVs today are bi-fuel vehicles, meaning they can use either petrol or natural gas. When Natural Gas is selected, gas from the cylinder goes through the NGV supply line into the regulator. While petrol is selected, the NGV solenoid valve will shut off the NGV system enabling the vehicles to run on petrol.

Customer Myth 4 - Inconvenient Fueling

"No, I don't want to take a long queue in the station! "

"It take me so long time to fill up gas!!! "

These are the complaints that many clients will voice up to me. But I would only tell them one thing :" You can choose your time to go to the station!"
